UTLO members can now schedule themselves for a COVID vaccination at https://vaccinefinder.nyc.gov.
Earlier this week (11 JAN 2020), we informed UTLO membership of the MTA’s preliminary plan to administer Covid vaccinations for MTA employee’s. We also informed UTLO members that the MTA has decided to not reimburse any managers the same 2 Hour Comp or Overtime compensation that is afforded to the Hourly and Supervisory positions.
Since receiving this disappointing information, your UTLO has contacted the MTA chain of command up to Patrick Foye, MTA Chairman/CEO. At this time, MTA managers are still not allowed to claim 2 hours for COVID Vaccination. MTA managers are directed to get the COVID Vaccination on their own time.
But, there is a silver lining to this story! While we managers cannot get the 2 hours afforded to our subordinates, we still have the same “Essential Personnel” status as all MTA employees. Also, we are not restricted to the Javits Center which now has a bottleneck of on 95 Bus employees and 95 Subway employees each day.
If a UTLO members decides to take the COVID Vaccination, they can simply go to https://vaccinefinder.nyc.gov to fill request an appointment at a location and time that fits their schedule.
